Unique Christmas Cards on Etsy!
Written by Lindsay Ropella
I was sent this greeting cards for review purposes. All thoughts and opinions expressed are of my own free will. ;)
A Public Service Announcement: There are only 6 weeks left until Christmas, guys! So finish off those Christmas lists, start the menu prep, and get those holiday greeting cards ready to send out!
I’m one of those crazies who actually likes all the prep that goes into the holiday season. I love baking and decorating dozens of Christmas cookies with my husband, unpacking the holiday decor and spending an entire Sunday decorating the house (while watching Elf, of course), and putting lots of effort into coming up with the perfect gifts for my loved ones. One holiday tradition though that I have yet to participate in is sending out Christmas cards.
Eric and I thought about sending out holiday cards last season, but we just couldn’t think of a fun or creative card to send out in time (because who wants a picture of two awkward adults on a Christmas card, honestly). This year, I decided I just wanted to send out some fun/funny cards to a few family members and friends. And funnily enough, in absolutely perfect timing I was contacted by the lovely Briar of Sunday Morning Cards on Etsy to see if she could send me some cards to check out!
I took a long look at her shop before agreeing, and immediately discovered I LOVED her stuff! I have to mention as a side note too, I turn down quite a few shops if I don’t think their product is something that is either high quality, or would be of interest to my readers. Briar’s shop Sunday Morning Cards however is one that I thought you all would be really interested in. Let me share a little more with you and I think you will see why…
These are the cards Briar send me for review. I really appreciate that she has a really nice mix of cards on her site. Some are holiday focused, some are made for specific people or events, and some are just plain hysterical (see the last card in the photo below).
Here’s an up close photo of the first card I received. The “Baby Buggy Congratulations Card” comes in both a pink and blue model. Briar also offers lots of other specialty cards for things like birthdays, engagements, weddings, and even moves.
This “Congratulations on Your Student Loan Debt” card is only one of the very many tongue-in-cheek cards that Briar offers on her Etsy site. In fact, she had so many funny cards that I had to look through every single page on her site just so I could read them all. My little brother graduates from college this year, and he is totally getting this one!
Briar also has a great selection of holiday cards. Sunday Morning Cards offers both funny and more traditional Christmas and Hanukkah cards for all your family and friends. I’m obsessed with this “Ugly Christmas Sweater” card! And if you are a fan of some of the holiday classics like Elf or Home Alone, you have to check out her movie inspired holiday cards!
All of the cards are made from very high quality gloss card stock, and each card comes with a very unique “raw paper” envelope. The cards are blank inside and provide a very smooth writing surface for your special message.
Two more cards I just have to point out because I think they are amazing – if you are like me, you always have an issue buying cards for your husband/boyfriend/SO. I know Eric really isn’t into cards and doesn’t care a whole lot about them…but to not get him one at all for birthdays or special events seems like I’m just handing myself the worst-wife-ever-trophy. The last few years however, I started buying funny cards for Eric and it seems like they’ve been a hit! He’s actually keeping a few of them now. ;) If you are in the market for a funny card for your guy for something like his birthday, or even Valentine’s Day, make sure to check out Briar’s “I’d Shave My Legs for You” card, or the “You’re My Man Crush Monday” card (shown below).
Briar has even been nice enough to provide my wonderful readers with a coupon code for free (domestic) shipping on your entire order! Just use the promo code “newlywednotebook” at checkout to get free shipping for your cards. This promo code will only be good through January 31, so make sure to stock up!
So tell me – what do you do for the holiday season? Do you send out cards or not? Do you personalize your cards or send out a fun photo card to everyone on your list? Let me know in the comments below!
